“wicked, totally compelling”
– BBC 1’s Annie Nightingale

A little over two decades ago I was fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with Aaron Trumm, a talented musician, wordsmith, and composer on a couple of his Third Option projects. The end result was a full-length techno/classical/poetry fusion album (Cult of Nice) and an EP (Still).

Later we reprised the partnership, this time to do the same with the poetry of local Houston poet and mathematician Andre de Korvin’s hauntingly good book The Four Hard Edges of War. I have always adored the way Andre sounds when he reads his work and it felt like it needed to be captured for posterity. I was so happy we were able to get Andrew into the studio. Aaron did a beautiful job composing melodies that complimented and honored Andre’s work. The final project features cut-ups of Andre’s audiobook reading, the original audiobook, poetry-less music versions, and 5.1 surround versions.
